KHATU SHYAM JI TEMPLE OPEN

The famous Khatu Shyam temple across the country opened for the devotees on 4 February 2023. After a long wait of 85 days, the doors of the temple opened at 4.15 pm. The devotees of Baba who are eagerly waiting will be able to have darshan of the head donor. Khatu Shyam Ji Temple located in Sikar district of Rajasthan was closed on 13 November 2022 for change in system. In the last about three months, many changes have been made here and new arrangements have been made. It has been claimed that now the devotees coming here will be able to have darshan easily. After the announcement of the opening of the temple, devotees have started reaching Khatu since last Monday morning.

HISTORY OF KHATU SHYAM JI TEMPLE

The story of Khatu Shyam Temple comes from the age-old Hindu epic of Mahabharata. One of the Pandavas, Bhima’s great-grandson Veer Barbarik is considered a great devotee of Lord Krishna. He sacrificed his head as a symbol of his love for Shri Krishna. Impressed by this great sacrifice, God blessed Veer Barbarik. The boon was that he would be worshiped as Shyam in Kaliyuga. This great sacrifice of Barbarik earned him the name of “Giver of Sheesh”. Veer Barbarik, who is worshiped as Shyam in Shri Khatu Shyam, is also famous among his devotees as ‘Hare Ka Sahara’. Devotees of Lord Krishna believe that the Lord always fulfills the wishes of those with a pure heart.

It is believed that the temple was built by Raja Roop Singh Chauhan, the ruler of Khatu Shyam and his wife Narmada Kanwar. Roop Singh had a dream in which he was asked to build a temple by extracting a Shyam head from a pond in Khatu. The same kund later came to be known as ‘Shyama Kund’.

There is also a belief that about 1000 years ago on the day of Ekadashi Baba’s head was found in Shyamkund. Here there was a big Peepal tree near the well. Coming here, the milk of the cows used to flow automatically. The villagers were in awe of the cows giving milk. When the villagers dug that place, Baba Shyam’s head was found. The sheesh was handed over to Queen Narmada Kanwar of the Chauhan dynasty, later in Vikram Samvat 1084. This sheesh was installed in the temple on the day Devuthani Ekadashi. Will get rid of all diseases and infections.

ARCHITECTURE OF KHATU SHYAM JI TEMPLE

Khatu Shyam is a centuries-old temple of Lord Krishna in Khatu town of Rajasthan. Khatu Shyam Temple is known for the idol of Lord Krishna which is in the form of his head, Shyam’s idol is also dark in color and its Half of the head is cut off. It is one of the most prominent places of worship in the state of Rajasthan. The popularity of the city has increased due to the presence of this very beautiful temple.

The present architecture of the temple was renovated around 1720 by Dewan Abhay Singh. Thus the idol was installed in the main sanctum sanctorum of the temple. The temple has been constructed using stones and marble. The door is decorated with gold leaf. There is also a prayer hall known as Jagmohan outside the temple. Lord Barbarik, who is considered the deity of the present time (Kaliyuga). Here he is worshiped in the form of Lord Krishna. Lord Khatu Shyam, revered in Hinduism as the helper of the needy, resides here and is famous for answering all the prayers of his devotees.

 

DARSHAN ARRANGEMENT FOR DEVOTEES

In fact, now devotees will neither be able to touch Baba nor offer prasad in the temple. VIP line will be useful for handicapped and without online booking they will not be able to enter the temple. There will be a glass wall between Baba and the devotees. Because of this wall, devotees will no longer be able to offer Prasad to Baba. Will see through transparent glass only. Will be able to see in 14 queues, Keeping in view the increasing number of devotees in the temple of Shyam Baba, the temple trust and the district administration have made many changes in the temple area to make the devotees accessible and accessible. The paths have been expanded in the temple premises and the outer area. The number of queues has been increased by removing the hall inside the temple. Now devotees will be able to have darshan easily in 14 queues. Every devotee will get an average time of 4 minutes for darshan.

ABOUT INFORMATION LAKHI FAIR IN KHATU SHYAM JI TEMPLE

Lakhi fair will be organized from 22 February, Here every year before Holi, in the month of Phalgun, from Shukla Paksha Pratipada to Dwadashi, the annual Lakkhi fair is organized. About 20 to 25 lakh devotees from India and abroad come here to have darshan of Baba. Apart from this, a monthly fair is organized every month on Ekadashi and Dwadashi of Shukla Paksha. This year Baba’s Lakhi Mela (Khatu Shyam Mela 2023) will start from 22nd February. Adequate arrangements are being made by the administration for the devotees coming to the fair.

KHATU SHYAM JI TEMPLE INSPECTION

Sikar SP inspected the temple, Sikar district administration is on alert this year after taking lessons from last year’s accident. Strong security arrangements will be made for the devotees by the police administration. Sikar SP Kunwar Rashtradeep (IPS Kunwar Rashtradeep) inspected Khatu Dham along with administrative officers and temple committee members on Sunday night before the temple opened after 85 days. About 1100 policemen have been deployed for security arrangements. RAC and police personnel will do duty for 12-12 hours in 2 shifts. According to the duty of 8 hours of home guard, 3 innings have been fixed. About 4000 policemen will be deployed when the crowd increases in the fair.
