1- Bhangarh Fort: The fort is known as the “Fort of Ghost”. It is believed that there are ghosts in the fort. The fort was constructed by King Bhagwant Das in 1583.

Story: There are many stories relating to the destruction of the fort. According to the legends, the fort’s land was owned by a saint named Guru Blaunath. Madho Singh before the construction of the fort sought his permission and he granted his permission on the condition that the shadow of the fort should never fall on his house. However, Madho Singh’s successor ignored these conditions which led to the cause of the destruction of the fort. Another story states that the fort is cursed by a magician who fell in love with Queen Ratnavati. But the rejection by the queen led to the fort’s destruction.

Experience: People believe that some strange voices are heard often when put their ears on the wall. Local people also claimed that the sounds of women screaming and crying, and breaking bangles come from the fort. Many visitors felt that someone was following them in the fort.

2- Kuldhara Village: Are you scared to know that the entire village vanished overnight? Yes, this is what happened according to legends. The Kuldhara village where once over 5000 families resided vanished overnight.

To save the honour of the girl and the respect of Paliwal Brahmins, the entire village decided to leave the village. But before they go, they curse the village.

Experience: Tourists claim that the voices of the Paliwal Brahmins are still being heard. In some houses, shadows often appear. People say that whoever comes here at night has met with an accident.

3- Rana Kumbha Palace: This fort is said to be one of the most haunted places in Rajasthan. The palace has a famous historical story and a film named “Padmavat” was also made on the haunted historical story related to the fort.

Story: It is said that when Alauddin Khilji, the sultan of Delhi, attacked the palace, Maharani Padmini and her 700 female servants performed the Jauhar. Since then, several incidents were reported where people witnessed sounds of ladies screaming for help to save their empire.

Experience: One recent spooky incident about the palace will surely thrill you. A group of friends stayed at night in the palace and saw a lady wearing royal attire with a burnt face asking for help to save their kingdom.

4- Chand Baori: It is one of the deepest and largest step wells in India. 3,500 little steps that descend 13 storeys below ground level are set in a precise geometric arrangement. Visitors are astounded by the stepwell’s enormous size and complex symmetrical construction.

Story: Once when child marriage was a common practice in India, a 5-day-old baby girl was to be married off to a 3-year-old toddler. The baby girl’s mother objected to the wedding and fled to the highway, where she was struck by a tourist car, instantly killing both her and the kid.

Experience:  Three companions saw the ghost of a woman holding a baby in her arms while travelling the Ajmer-Udaipur highway. She sat back on the car seat and guided them to go out of the village.

Story: Indian rebels murdered Major Burton, an East India Co. employee, and his family at the Brij Raj Bhavan during the Sepoy Mutiny. Local people believed that his ghost roams in this spooky location.

Experience: After the death of Major Burton, the Queen of Kota conquered the mansion. In her interview with a journalist revealed that she have seen Major Burton ghost in the mansion. The spirit is harmless and causes no physical damage to the fort. However, the ghost of Burton has a habit of hitting the dozing security guards.
