1. AMER FORT JAIPUR

The Amer fort located in Amber, 11 km from Jaipur, is the one of the famous fort in Rajasthan, it was the capital of the state of Jaipur. it is oldest fort and it was build in 1592 by Raja Man Singh. This is very popularly know for its Amer Palace. This fort build in red sandstone and marble, the Maota Lake adds a certain charm to the entire fort. The fort look in outside is so old but its interior looking so beautiful, artwork in inside such as very famous Diwan-E- Aam, The Sheesh Mahal and even the Sukh Mahal. The Amer fort has influences of both Hindu’s and Muslim’s architecture. This fort also have Shila devi temple and Ganesh pole which is the gates the leads to the private Places of the king.

The Mehrangarh Fort Located in Jodhpur The sun city, It was oldest and artwork fort built by Rajput ruler Rao Jodha in 1459, and is one of the best forts Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The fort is known for its magnificent architecture and show his royal and glory life. Every part of Jodhpur city can be seen from this fort. One of Greatest features of the Mehrangarh Fort is that it is located at four hundred and ten(410) feet above the city and it overlooks whole Jodhpur city.   3. Gopal Pol, This pole is the second largest pole after Fateh Pole.
  4. Dedh Kangra Pol, which still bears the scars of bombardment by cannonball.
  5. Amruti Pol, This pol is situated between Dedh Kangra Pol and Loha Pol.
  6. Loha Pol, which is the final gate into the main part of the fort complex.its has hand prints the queens and some princesses, who had committed Sati over the years after death of their husband.
  7. Suraj pol, the innermost gate which provides access to palace complex and Daulat Khana Chowk.

3. JAISALMER FORT-

The Jaisalmer Fort, also known as the Sonar Quila, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the city of Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, India. The fort was built in 1156 by Rajput ruler Rawal Jaiswal, and it is the second oldest fort in Rajasthan. The fort is made of yellow sandstone and stands on a hill, making it visible for miles around. They have 4 gateways to reach in this fort. The fort contains several palaces, temples, and havelis, many of which have been converted into hotels and museums. It is a 250 feet high for, which is protected by 30 feet tall walls. The fort constitutes 99 bastions, amongst these 92 bastions were built between years 1633 and 1647. Estimate nearly one fourth old city’s population still resident in this fort. The fusion of Islamic and Rajput architecture also attract tourists. 4. NAHARGARH FORT

Nahargarh Fort is located in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Nahargarh Fort located in top of the Aravalli Hills, creating an impressive look to the city of Jaipur. It was built in 1734 by ruler of Jaipur Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, this fort was expanded in 1868, and used as a residence for the royal family. The fort is located on the Aravalli Hills and offers a panoramic view of the city. Nahargarh, which means abode of tigers, this was a formidable barrier, defending Jaipur against attacking enemies. Madhavendra Bhavan is situated inside the walls of this fort which was built for the Royal family. Even today the palace is a favorite spot for local picnickers. NAHARGARH FORT

5. CHITTORGARH FORT

Chittorgarh Fort is located in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. This also known as Chittor Fort. Chittorgarh Fort is one of the largest forts in India and regarded as the symbol of Rajput chivalry, resistance and bravery. Whose construction and history is considered thousands of years old. It was built by Chitrangada Mori,There is no concrete information about this grand fort. The fort is built on a hill and covers an area of around 700 acres. This fort famous for his seven gates like Padan Gate, Ganesh Gate, Hanuman Gate, Bhairon Gate, Jodla Gate, Lakshman Gate and the Main gate name is Lord Ram Gate. The Chittorgarh fort has many palaces, like the Rana Kumbha Palace, the Fateh Prakash Palace, the Tower of Victory and Rani Padmini’s Palace. There are also many temples within the fort. Jain Temple on this fort is a huge attraction of tourists, Chittorgarh fort along other hill forts of Rajasthan was declared as UNESCO World Heritage site in 2013 year.. 6. RANTHAMBORE FORT

Ranthambore Fort is a historic fort located in the Ranthambore National Park in Rajasthan, India. The fort is situated on a hill in the park and dates back to the 10th century. It was built by the Chauhan rulers, and later it was captured by the Rajput ruler, and later it was under the Mughal ruler. it was ideal to keep the enemy at bay. When Alauddin Khilji attacked this fort, then the queen and other women of this fort had committed Johar, which is also said in historical stories. The most famous battle of this fort is the battle of Raja Rao Hamir against Sultan Alauddin Khilji in 1301. The mosques and temples located inside the fort testify that the Rajput kings were secular. The fort has several palaces, temples and halls inside the fort, including the Hammir palace, the Jogi Mahal, and the Sita Mata temple.The Lord Ganesha temple housed here is a major tourist attraction, and it also hosts a fair every year on Bhadrapad Sudi Chaturthi of the occasion. 7. KUMBHALGARH FORT

Kumbhalgarh Fort is a historic fort located in Rajsamand, Rajasthan, India. It is the second most important fort in the Mewar region after Chittorgarh Fort. This Fort cradled in the Aravalli Range. The fort built in 15th century by Rajput ruler Rana Kumbha and has a long history, which includes several battles and sieges. The fort also served as refuge to King Udai Singh of Mewar in his early childhood when Banbir killed Vikramaditya and usurped the throne. This fort is birthplace of Mewar legendary king Maharana Pratap.The fort is located on a hilltop and is surrounded by a 36 km long wall, which is the second longest wall after the Great Wall of China. There is a magnificent array of temples built by the Mauryas of which the most picturesque place is the Badal Mahal or the palace of the clouds Neelkanth Mahal. The fort also Show beautiful view of the surroundings. The fort’s massive wall stretches some 36 kms with a width enough to take as eight horses abreast. 8. JUNAGARH FORT

Junagarh Fort is a historic fort located in the city of Bikaner, Rajasthan, India. The fort was built in the 16th century by Raja Rai Singh, a general in the court of the Mughal emperor jalaluddin Akbar. The fort was originally called Chintamani Mahal and was renamed Junagarh or “Old Fort” in 20th century. The fort is known for its unique architecture, which combines Hindu and Islamic styles. The structures built within the Junagarh fort are the palaces and temples, which are made of red sandstone and marble. Fort beauty lies in the stone carving done in red and gold-colored sandstones. The fort has several palaces, temples, and other structures within its walls, including the Anup Mahal, the Ganga Niwas, and the Har Mandir. JUNAGARH FORT

9. TARAGARH FORT

Taragarh Fort, also known as “Star Fort,” is a fortification in the city of Ajmer, Rajasthan, India, the giant Taragarh Fort in Ajmer stands at a height of about 1300 feet above ground level. Built upon a steep hillside, this fort show a breathtakingly beautiful panoramic view of the city.  The fort was built in 1354 by the Chauhan ruler King Ajay Pal Chauhan which makes it one of the oldest forts in India. The fort was named Taragarh after Prithviraj Chauhan’s wife Tarabai. The fort has been the site of many battles over the centuries and has been controlled by various rulers, including the Rajputs, the Mughals, and the British. There are three main gateway of the fort likes Lakshmi Pol, Phuta Darwaza and Jagudi ka Phatak. Most parts of these gateways are now in demolished. In the fort are water reservoirs. During the Mughals ruled Ajmer, this fort was used as an important center of military activities. In the later years, during the British Raj, in the British Raj Taragarh fort was dismantled by the order of Lord William Bentinck and start to serve as a sanatorium for the British troops. It is a popular tourist destination and offers a panoramic view of the city and surrounding landscape.

TARAGARH FORT

10. JAIGARH FORT

Jaigarh Fort is located in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The fort was built in 1726 by Rajput ruler Sawai Jai Singh II, and is known for its well-preserved architecture and complex network of water supply and drainage systems. Jaigarh Fort located is a height of 500 feet above the sea level and offers panoramic views of the surrounding. The fort features a number of structures, its including the world’s largest cannon on the wheels called Jaivana Cannon’s and the Laxmi Villas palace, residence of the erstwhile royal family. The main entrance Gate of the Jaigarh Fort is Known  Dungar Darwaza. There are two ancient temples Ram Harihar Temple that was built in the 10th century and the Kal Bhairav Temple that has existed since the 12th century. The fort also offers a panoramic view of the surrounding landscape and the Amber Fort located nearby. Jaigarh Fort is a massive sandstone structure that is built in Indo-Persian style, complete with cyclopean walls that have been held together with lime mortar, The structure consists of a square garden that is surrounded by ramparts which lead to the upper levels of the fort, and is spread over an area of 3 km. Made with the main purpose of protecting Amer Fort, Jaigarh fort is considered as the strongest monument of Jaipur. Jaigarh Fort Also known the name of ‘Victory Fort’, this place was considered as a storehouse of all the war amours, cannons, arms and ammunitions. There are fortified gates on this fort that show incredible views of the Aravalli ranges and Sagar Lake. There is a Persian style garden within the complex of the fort which is divided into 4 parts. The best part about the fort is its windows which are made of lattices. These windows allow a complete view of the exteriors, but nothing can be observed from the outside. It is a popular tourist destination and a well-preserved example of Rajput military architecture.

The best time to visiting this fort is between November and February. Because they are winter months in Amer and while the nights can get a bit chilly, the mornings remain pleasant and allows for a great opportunity to explore the fort.
